One of my favorite characters in a show once said: "While it is always best to believe in one's self, a little help from others can go a long way." I feel this is the main tenant I hold for individual therapy. My goal is to support you in processing your current situation, how events from the past are currently impacting you now, and to find what grounds you. I believe that all people are inherently capable and that we still need different parts of our community at different times in our lives.
My style of therapy is very directive in sessions. I often pause someone to emphasize something important they are saying or slow the speaker down so we can unpack statements together. My goal is to blend processing and action steps. It is important to me that you feel you are making changes to your inner landscape as we work together.Â
I offer a free consultation session with individuals to get to know one another and to ensure that my skills match what you need. The duration and extent of our work together can absolutely be determined as we go. I make sure to check in with my clients periodically to ensure that our goals are still aligned, that the you feel we are still moving in a direction that benefits you, and that our time together is still helpful.
